Cornerstone Ins. offers LASG N1bn cover on buses

Nigeria’s foremost underwriting giants Cornerstone Insurance Plc has offered an insurance cover worth N1.0 billion to the Lagos State Government Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses.

Dominic Ichaba, Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Ag (MD/CEO) of company disclosed the company’s readiness to partner with Lagos State government in its efforts to transform the state into a mega city.

“This is one of many practical steps to register our readiness and willingness to mobilize every resource at our disposal – material, intellectual and otherwise – as a responsible stakeholder to ensure that the dream of transforming Lagos into a mega city is realized” Ichaba said.

Ichaba says any transformation process is full of risks; which would take the expertise of a dependable risk bearer to anticipate and appropriately mobilize resources to ensure that the wheel of progress does not grind to a halt.

“Insurance, by its nature and operations, ensures that the wheel of progress is continually lubricated for the good of the people and society at large” he said.

He promised that Cornerstone Insurance will be an ally that will assist and add value to the state through it unique insurance products and services; to reposition it as a veritable business and residential destination choice for all.

Alao Adewuyi, President, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos state chapter at the presentation of the insurance certificate commended Cornerstone Insurance for providing covers for the buses.

The insurance firm is expected to provide comprehensive insurance cover for 100 mega buses on the BRT transport initiative by the State Government.

Union Bank assures Nigerians of prompt funds delivery

Union Bank of Nigeria Plc (UBN) has honoured its customers who took part in the banks Moneygram raffle draw competition, while assuring Nigerians in diaspora of the banks commitment on funds delivery.

 

Austin Obigwe, Executive Director (ED) Corporate and International Banking, used the occasion of the draws to re-affirm the bank’s commitment to all Nigerians in the diaspora of efficient and prompt delivery of funds sent through Moneygram in the bank.

 

“With over 400 branches nationwide, Union Bank has all it takes to deliver the Money Transfer Service to its customers, including the rural areas where dependents live” Obigwe said.

 

 Joke Giwa, Moneygram Country Director, Nigeria, disclosed that the promotion was a friendly way of rewarding deserving customers for their continued patronage; while thanking the agent banks for their support.

 

Winners of the Union Bank Moneygram raffle draws were presented with attractive prizes, which include cars, motorcycles and generators at a colourful ceremony held in Lagos.

 

12 winners emerged in the 10th year anniversary promotion of Moneygram International Nigeria. Two of the customers won brand new cars, while five won brand new motorcycles and generators respectively.

 

To select winners, two separate draws of the Moneygram promo was done between November 2007 and ended on February 2008.

 

Some of the winners include, Esther Ogunbiyi and Charles Chukwuma who won brand new cars respectively. Other were Vincent Udosen, Tunde Odelana, Kelly Ogieriakhi, Edith Oyigbo and Abisola Aderotoye who won brand new motorcycles.
